Luton Town hosts Middlesbrough
It’s time for the English Championship to begin. Luton Town hosts Middlesbrough in a game from the first round of the league. Let’s examine this clash at the Kenilworth Road in our vip soccer bets.
Luton Town returned to the Championship after winning a promotion from the League One. Now The Hatters’ fans are dreaming for reaching the Premier League as well, but it’s not that easy. We guess that Luton Town’s main goal will be to stay in the Championship for the first season and maybe aim for something more after that.
What Luton Town did during the summer transfer window so far? Let’s take a look.
At this moment Luton Town have only one player bought from another club. The Hatters paid 1.7 million euro to Rijeka for the Croatian goalkeeper Simon Sluga. They also signed five players on free transfer – Martin Cranie, Brendan Galloway, Ryan Tunnincliffe, Jacob Butterfield and Callum McManaman. It’s going to be interesting to see how Luton will perform after their return to the Championship.
Meanwhile Middlesbrough will try to make another attempt to return to the Premier League. Last season they finished 7th in the Championship, being only one place beneath the play-off zone. It was really dissapointing for them, because they finished just one point behind the 6th Derby County, who after this won the promotion.
On the transfer market Middlesbrough are pretty quiet so far. They signed West Ham’s youngster Marcus Browne, while the Spanish goalkeeper Tomas Mejias moved to the club with a free transfer from Omonia Nicosia. The left back Marc Bola was signed from Blackpool as well.
In the same time the club made a good deal with Cardiff City, selling the centre back Aden Flint for 4,45 million euro. In the same time the veterans Stewart Downing and John Obi Mikel also left the club.
These are our vip soccer bets for the Championship opening clash between Luton Town and Middlesbrough on Friday.
