Celtic hosts St. Johnstone

It’s time for the Scottish Premiership to begin once again! The current champion Celtic hosts St. Johnstone in a game from the first round of the league. Here’s the moment to examine it in our predictions football 1×2.

Far from surprising, Celtic won the league once again, despite of the fact that the manager Brendan Rodgers left the club in the middle of the season. He was replaced by the club legend Neil Lennon, who finished the job and led the team to its 50th title. What else can Celtic do now? Well, it’s pretty simple – win the 51th title.

During the summer the champions made some improvements of their team on the market. The clu paid 8 million euro to Toulouse for the centre back Christopher Jullien, while the left back Boli Bolingoli was signed from Rapid Vienna. Another signing was made for the defense as the Israeli centre back Hatem Abd Elhamed was bought from Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Meanwhile “Celtic Park” said goodbye to the centre back Dedryck Boyata, who moved to Hertha BSC with a free transfer. The Swedish veteran Mikael Lustig moved to Gent, while Scott Alan left the club and signed with another Scottish team – Hibernian.

Just few days ago Celtic faced the Estonian Nomme Kalju in a first match from the 2nd round of the Champions League qualifiers, winning the game with 2-0 in Talinn. Aleksandr Kulinits from the home team scored himself an own goal, while Marian Shved added one more for the Scottish side.

No doubt for St. Johnstone it’s going to be tough to start the new season against Celtic in Glasgow. Tommy Wright’s team will have to make a huge effort in order to avoid losing this one. On the transfer market the club didn’t do anything spectacular, signing few players with free transfers.

These are our predictions football 1×2 for the Premiership clash between Celtic and St. Johnstone on Saturday.
